A friend called today, needs help, 4600' of county drain (open ditch) to clear...
Going to look at it tomorrow, Oh boy, I can hardly wait!
I know already, trees will be 99% Boxelder, all leaners, the rest, Cottonwood or Aspen. Time to get the skip chain sharpened. At least I'll get to run his "skidder" as well as cutting.

His machine is definately nice! It will spoil an operator.
The grapple originally came off a small artic. loader, he cut off the mounting brackets and welded on a skidsteer coupler. It works pretty good.
I used it on my Bobcat until I bought my grapple.

What do you mean what should you do? You should get the job and do it! And then you should thank your lucky stars that you have work. I have spoken with a lot of climbers lately who just can't get enough work to survive. Even though the situation has improved a bit, things are still pretty bleak for a lot people.

I have as much of the job as I want, be it good or bad, paid by the hour.
I'm not a tree professional of any type, just do my own logging. My "day" job as a mechanical designer keeps me busy and pays the bills. Last winter I worked felling firewood trees (EAB Ash) for 2 different landowners, this job is a result of that.
