What is this thing ?

My sister in law has some kind of an idea I know every living plant but the truth of the matter is I don't .

This thing is about 6 feet tall and appears from the leaves to be related to an apple ,haw or something .I can't ID it so I said it turn it over to a group that most likely can ,thanks .

Looks like a dogwood shrub of some sort.

I thought the same thing, Bob. Hereabouts, it would be what we call creek dogwood, don't know the Latin.

Cornus aka Dogwood, the common shrubby type here is red twig or yellow twig
