Yes, I bought new Altec 75 footer in 04. Sweet thing. Loved the truck. Sold it this year and bought the Omme. The bucket was awesome, but the lift is so much sweeter. Access Access Access. 90 ft. Between the Omme and the Teupen we hardly ever climb a tree anymore. At times, I do miss the bucket but I think it is the "macho" part of me only. Lifts are definitely the future in tree work IMHO.

Good deal. Which do you like better Omme vs. Teupen?

Is it wobbly up there, like it is with those cheaper "Biljax" tow-behind lifts?

Omme is best for the larger trees of course. The Teupen is great for lower work. The Omme is a bit shakey when fully extended but is is built out of larger materials than the others so it should be not as bad. Like everything, you do get used to it. Bucket trucks are nice, but I do see a wave of portable lifts coming in our area. Glad I made the switch when I did.
