What can I use this for?

I use that same ring spliced onto one end of six feet of 5/8" Tenex as a rappel sling for pine spars. Don't use it a lot but when the tree is covered with pitch and I don't want to use a friction saver it's perfect. I timber hitch it and rap off the ring. Then I fall the spar with it still attached. Works OK for light rigging too but the bend radius is kinda small.

I've got a couple of heavy duty rings made by Crosby but they are used as rigging rings for lifting rather than a climbing type thing .They come in handy at times .
