As stated above, for interstate, there isn't much. You are supposed to be drug tested, I joined a testing service for about 100$ a year, I'm the only driver, I don't do drugs and rarely drink, I never go to the tests. The DOT door sticker is 10$. You need a medical card issued after a physical every few years. Annual inspection sticker; that's usually a rubber stamp on a low miles well maintained truck. Overall, I would say there's not much to the CDL thing. I will say I only drive locally, I stay off interstate highways 99% of the time.

Wow, I have a feeling now that I'm gonna get pulled over tomorrow.;)

Aren't trailers supposed to be inspected as well? In a chat with a MDOT official last year at a eatery he said something along those lines

In MA, if it's over 2,000 GVWR it does. Also has to have brakes.

I've had a chaufeurs license since 1966 .Took the test in a '59 Pontiac believe it or not .

When they came out with the CDL I was grandfathered in .

Now that drinking driving deal .They can ground you for 24 hrs if they detect even one little tiny trace of drinking .I think over a .04 they pull your wings for a year as far as the CDL .

Now remember on this DUI or whatever term they use the words "assumed or presumed " might say a certain level such as .08 in many states .However they can nail your butt on a lot less depending .Best advice especially on a CDL is just don't drink if you're going to be driving period .

Trailer inspections vary by state. Here in Illinois it is 5,001 GVWR and up requires an inspection every six months.
