Toxic Hogweed! Nasty Nasty

We have tons of cow parsnip around here. It grows in every grassy field. There's a couple places along the coast we frequently stop to take pics where we have to walk through fields of thick, tall plants and neither of us knew it was toxic. Guess we better be careful.
 
I don't hear much about toxic plants in these parts beside urushi, but we do have a few blood sucking insects, one that looks like a big horse fly, and some others almost too small to see. Pretty creepy and some bad itch after.
 
From the link posted on this stuff it resembles what we call Queen Annes lace or wild carrot .

There is a plant called pig weed which is a broad leafed plant with a reddish stem which will grow just about any place .Round Up will make short work of either .

I remember seeing some of those when driving around with you and Jerry and asking you what they were.

Same family as Giant Hogsweed , but not the same plant. Probably less toxic. ( Most things are:lol:)

Cow parsnip is Heracleum maximum, Giant Hogsweed is Heracleum Mantegazzianum.
