I would speculate that the 066/660 will likely retain their value and popularity for years to come even if Stihl stops making them .There were so many made and with after market parts becoming available it would be possible to maintain them for decades .

It's a proven point that with repair parts if there were a large enough market some entity will fill it .Besides it would not surprise me one bit of Stihl just stopped marketing the MS 660 in North Amerca but not so in other portions of the globe .The 038 Mag and 440 point that out .Likely the Ms 200T will take that path too .

I decided for now Im going to hang on to this saw and put it in the fleet. Any y'all know where I can get a dual port muffler over?

They aren't that hard to make .If not there must be a dozen places on flea bay that advertise them plus a dozen saw scrappers scattered hither and yon on the net .

C4 Fun probabely has some pictures of a dual port for an 066 ..I only have smaller myself ,no big-uns .

Say I just surfed flea bay plus looked at the IPL .It appears to me that all the 066 mufflers had a hole in the back ,most of the second ports were in the cover .

You can find a cover for about 20 bucks if you look .I'll be damned if I'd pay someone 100 bucks to weld a little pipe on a cover like it were going to be entered in a rod a custom show .Geeze:what:

You can make you own DP cover from stock cover using husky 288 deflector or smaller 281 one. $15 for 288 and $9 for 281

Here is a 288 on a 084 cover to make a DP. You could weld a shield over deflector and it would be like a DP 660 cover.

660 muffler mod using a little pipe. Another free muffler mod. I dont like the pipes going to the left if angled wrong and making flush cuts. ;) Make sure of flow direction.

These so called geniuses that make these damned muffler covers must think the rest of the world is stupid or something .FWIW Bryce Stotz alias "cheap chainsaw parts " on flea bay has the kit for under 20 bucks .

On Ebay...
$43.50 Buy now... 10 available, I want one also.. Just been holding off for a better time of it.
Save me one fellas
066 dual port

I knew about those aftermarket ones when they hit the market, I just dont have any experience with them so I didnt post link. Good price on the whole muffler set up with cover though.

If you get one. Let me know how those aftermarket ones coming from Greece work out. I have been to (cant think of the word) to buy and try one.
