Terri and I went up to Rio Dell yesterday to visit with Dave and Cristy and the kids. It was fun to set and chat with Dave and find out who all we knew in the business.

For a young and hard working arborist he's got his hands full raising 6 kids. There's got to be a lot of tree work in Humboldt to feed 8 mouths during these times.

Right across the river from Dave and Cristy's is the Scotia Logging Museum and I took a few pics there. Old yarder and blocks

Then on the way home we stopped at the end of the old old Highway and walked down memory lane, seen a few big'uns. Then it started raining buckets and we beat feet back to Ft. Bragg.

Nice day in all, and will make it back to see Dave and the family again soon.

I would love to take a day drive up the Redwood Highway. rain or no rain, meeting another Tree Houser would be cool too. Thanks for sharing Jerry.

When I go back home these days the trips are so purposeful, I can't just take road trips into the redwoods anymore.

we should set up a rec climb with GB in the summer, b4 reggae on the river so the water will still be pure,
use a local campground, encourage families to come, bring some kids saddles, anyways kristy and i are always down to meet fellow tree people

it was great to meet GB and Terri in person, our time was short but well spent, i look foreward to seeing them again, hopefully on a crane job in the future

2nd pic upper left corner notice the topped liquid ambers by the building, ive been after them to stop that, they even did the ones next to the scotia inn like that.
sad to see old trees being ruined by the in house gardners,

I don't wear short sleeves, Butch, cuz I'm allergic to the sun. It makes me break out in a rash and itch terribly. So it's always been long sleeve for this old tree tramp.

Anyway it was cool in the woods yesterday.
