Thanksgiving 2008

i am thankful for a healthy body and mind, a place to call home, family that are there for me and friends that call me friend.

ENJOY what you have

Happy Turkey Day, my brothers and sisters. :)
My favorite neighbor just brought over a loaf of banana bread fresh out of the oven, smells delicious. :|: I'll bring it with me when I go to another buddy's house for dinner in an hour. I should be waddling back home by about dark. 8)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone ! I am headed for a ham coma today. Less people over so we are only doing the ham instead of both.

I did thanksgiving dinner with my kids and my parents on monday... It was fantastic. :) I have to work over the holidays... it was the ex's turn with the kids anyhow...

We are having a potluck dinner at work tonight. We decided to do something different than traditional thanksgiving day fare... we are doin' an Italian Feast.

Have a happy day you'se guys and gals... :)

Gary

Thankful for the two extra tree jobs I just picked up while working on Thanksgiving! Great time to get noticed. Freakin smells coming out of houses had me starving though, go to Moms tonight and tear into some bird..

I thought about working today... I was afraid of pissing people off with the noise. My lady friend had to work today, so we made a Thanksgiving breakfast. ...pretty good.

I had to work today straight pay , But the company fed us ALL a real nice spread ...still on duty we transported food for 10 up to the summit ...

Thankful for not falling a few stories recently, when a thin branch pushed through the crane hook and raised my safety up to the lip edge :\:

Jay, May I suggest that you place a shackle around the cable above the ball and tie in to that.

I'm thankful , for work, family, friends, food and fishing. God has blessed me richly.

I am thankful for my wife and my daughter fist and foremost, they are my world. I am thankful for my family and friends, that I have loads of work to do and complain about, that despite all my aches in pains I still function. I am thankful for the TH and all my online friends. I am thankful for getting the chance to meet more Tree Housers this year, Rumination and RBTree.

Sat at home all day sick while the rest of the fam went to my uncles. Word to the wise. Working in the rain without rain gear when its in the 30's will make you sick.

Did eat some soup I made tho!

Dang, hope you're better soon Jim. Being sick sucks. My lymph gland under my chin has been swollen for a day or two but it hasn't turned into anything yet. Either I'll be down and out by Sunday or else it will pass. I haven't had a bad cold in several years.

Thanksgiving dinner was quite enjoyable for me. I had a low key dinner with a friend and his wife, then we sat around and watched a movie and stuffed some pie down on top of dinner. I waddled home about 7. :|:

I am thankful that I feel much better than Jim.

(get better quickly, Jim....rest, stay warm, more soup, lots of liquids, more rest)

My neighbor (a fellow ski patroller) Had a last minute cacellation of some family attendees , with the table all set , food cooked ....he invited me and two other patrollers who literally had NO plans ... We had a fantastic time the topper being desert when dad filled his 7 year old sons mouth with whip cream , pretty funny till he started choking and changing color with FOUR first responders at the table we shared some concern... I guess the whip cream reacted with some sparkling apple juice ...lets just say he cleared his own airway with the entire contents in his stomach....

Most excellent!

Except for that last part...

EWWWWWWWWWE...

I remember a lot of Thanksgivings spent with friends when I was removed from family for years at a time. Some of those celebrations were the best in my memories. I think I cut a lil loose differently than with my family. My family is a hoot.. But I know I can relax more around my friends.
Mom called from up north at my aunts and uncles house. Guess they had quite the turn out. Of course I was asked to walk them through cleaning the puter there. Don't know why they think I am such and expert. I think my Mom just likes to have me do things for her ;)

Our gathering was small here in comparison of years past as most everyone is out of town. So we only had friends over too with their kids. Katy out did herself on the ham and rest of the spread. This was really her first hosted holiday. She was quite proud of herself as was I.
Again.. happy thanksgiving every one... Happy you're all here and that I am too :)
