Couple month old br600. No start, no spark. Anything i can check myself? Never brought anything to the dealer, but i cant imagine you get it back quickly. Lets assume it was home owner use, so one year warranty i think...

I think you're right about the warranty just call your dealer and see what they say, check the wiring at the coil and kill switch, that's where I'd start

Also plug and wiring at the plug, Make sure the ignition hasn't slipped from loose screws, and the gap between it and the flywheel is right. Sparks can be deceiving, it sometimes looks like you aren't getting one, but better viewing conditions shows that you are.

That's a good suggestion, I would only add that a person wearing a pacemaker is not the preferred choice. Save yourself from some possibly undesirable work. A circuit tester will also tell the truth about getting juice or not at the plug wire.

Probably the coil. I have one and a friend has one. Coil was intermittent on his. I'd check it for spark and find none, then he'd toss it in the truck and take it down to the local power equipment place. Miraculously it would bump whatever back enough that it could arc, have spark, and start right up.

Finally the third time it didn't and they put a new coil in it. No problems since. They did mention they'd seen it on the br600 more than once. His was under warranty at < 1 yr.

It did not want to start the other day at a job. I gave it hell and it fired. Cold turkey today. Took cover off, checked wires, un plugged shut off wire, still nothing. God damn, im going to have to rake this week.

Get someone to hold on the wire while you give it a yank. Probably have to find a new person after one test.

I love doing that to nembies. I tell em "Hold this wire and keep your hand on the cylinder." Ive been called bad names afterwards. Its not the pain, its the surprise.

What, hold it and leap off the truck? I dunno, that seems a little desperate.... Things aren't usually as bad as they seem.

Probably the coil B. Mine stopped running after I adjusted the valves.WTF? Turned out to be the coil.

I don't think that your mind generally runs toward the coil be bad on a newer saw, but I guess it happens. That has to be some bad workmanship.
