It's interesting that he did it himself.
However, it only has a range of 15-50 miles, which makes it a commuter car only. For the $13k plus labor it took to build, I could get an old Civic that gets 30 mpg.
I think there is a place for electric cars, but the average mechanic can't do it well enough to make it worthwhile.
