Hey all me and Shelly are moving to the atlanta area [to be closer to her folks :whine:] I was wondering how is tree work up there, are there any decent companies up there or would I be better off subing like I do now? Are there any companies I should avoid at all costs? I'd perfer a larger company but beggers can't be choosers. If it helps I have a class b cdl, climbing and rigging gear including a bollard and a few saws. any help especially from locals is much appreciated. :)

I was removing a dangerous tree in Baldwin park, got it brushed out and down to a 25' pole. All I had to do was drop 2 8' sections so it could be dropped. I had to use his 660 with a 36" bar and the first section went well, cut a notch out of the second section and started making the back cut, while I was cutting one of my spurs cut out and I tried to grab the trunk and reset, but my hand slipped and my ring finger on my right hand went right into the chain. 2 days at ORMC and 4 hours of surgery i got released. Shelly has a pic of it after the surgery but not before I will post later.

Thanks guys, all I can do is wait, in 7-14 days I should have the 2 pins and 13 wires stitches removed.

A quick update I go in Tuesday to have the pins removed, but no telling how long I'll have to wait to get back to work because the doc was talking about physical therapy and healing, I think an amputation would have been a better bet.

Heal up, brother, and don't dispair. I have (and I know two others) that have cut their fingers with a saw. Yours sounds worse, but at least you've still got your fingers.
