Movie theaters going extinct?

We used to have a theater in town. It went broke when the home video thing came about. Of course the home video place went broke with the advent of cable and satellite TV. Now we just stay home and have a 60 inch tv and can get movies for nothing off the internet.

We wonder why we never go visit friends anymore or get together. We are becoming anti social.

Having said that, I have not been to the theater in 10 years. I just like to bitch about the loss of the old ways.

Ive heard his name but Im from the wrong coast. Care to tell us a bit about Mr Noonan?

These guys save Theatres. https://movieheroes.com/ The one in Oakhurst is a good example and we attend for special ones. My mom and dad have a membership. Memberships kind of make sense,
For us, no TV per se, Net Flix, Hulu and Amazon are our friends .... Much easier for setting the kids up and ourselves with what we like to watch instead of the 13 channels of shit on the TV to choose from.

Sam is a good dood. 2 time champ in the first comps back in the 70s. Taught me well, took me to conferences, paid my travel and entry fees to compete. Down to earth good guy

Right, Merle, that was exactly the place, before the Petaluma Blvd. south exit ! Showing porn must have been their last gasp before going out of business. I figured that there had to be some boys sitting up in the hills watching too.

We still have one in most small towns.
Usually run by local volunteers. You can have a glass of wine or a beer with your movie, along with an assortment of candy and of course, popcorn.
I hope they can stay in business.
Otherwise those of us who don't own TVs will miss out on all the movies.

I guess of all the cinemas that would go out of business those showing porn would be the first to go.

Some films you just prefer to watch at home.

They had built a new 14 screen theater here with nice reclining lounge style seats and no one ever blocks your view seating style. $5 a tic on Tue. $6.25 first showing for day other days. weekends $8.25 I think.

It is sweet and for only movies I really really want to see on BIG screen. Otherwise I just watch on my 60" for now.

Thinking about it. We still have one of the last drive in theaters around. I would think anyways.
