I bought a helmet yesterday.

I had a half helmet that I wore on my road bike. I needed to work it over with a hammer so it would fit.

Yesterday I found a full face helmet. Not a dirt bike style......but it should work.

Stupid thing is 5XL! Only one they had in the store that would fit.

Its actually kind of amazing to watch him.

I almost always follow him so I can see what he is doing.

One little wiggle on the ass end and he makes a correction. Either slows down or moves out of the soft track.

He has a good feel for it I think. Has good feeling in his seat, feet and hands.

I have seen ham handed adults panic, pin the throttle and wreck. He has not shown any of that yet.

I actually cant wait for him to get a bigger bike.

That little 50 with the tiny wheels is a dangerous looking machine!

The small diameter wheels certainly can be a challenge.

Some have an innate feel for things physical, many do not. The boy is blessed with it, it would seem.

Spring is around the corner, don't forget to top up your blinker fluid.

Got up early this sunday morning and took the bike to the bakery for some fresh rolls.
About 15 km on twisty forest roads, a great way to start a sunday.
Something was crawling around on top of my head, so i figured I'd got a spider or something inside my helmet.
Didn't bother me much, figured I'd deal with it at the bakery.
Then it crawled out from under the helmet, next to my left eye..................Big old wasp queen.

I pulled over fast and got rid of her.
Turned out she had been making a nest in my helmet.
She'd only got around to laying the first 3 eggs when I jammed the helmet, with her and the nest on my head.

That was somewhat spooky!

Extremely so.
I think she never saw this hairy thing pressing against her in the dark as a threat.
Why, I can't figure out.

No idea!
Some tree wasps can do both.

Might have been my luck that it was a queen, then.
