That would be a neat opertunity to see the marine side up close.
Another option is to take the ferry one way through the inside passage. Then for the opposite direction use the Alcan and the Cassiar hwys.
The Cassiar is much like it has always been, like the old Alcan was. Remote and smaller.
The new Alcan has been rerouted up the valleys not on the ridge line like it use to be. Makes trucking easier, but the views are not as good.
Also from where you will be going/coming reaching the beginning of the Alcan takes you pretty far east.
