I found this 2 weeks ago, HUGE old oak, escaped the logging of the homesteaders 200 years ago, and escaped again about 16-20 years ago8)

warm day, me and Lou, huge tree.

75' maybe more with a canopy spread of almost as much.
Moss on the tops of the limbs, beauty old tree.

Limbs custom for limbwalking, but upper limbs made it hard to get out on some due to friction.

the rope wrench would have been fun to try in this tree! IMGP6618.jpg IMGP6620.jpg IMG_0199.jpeg IMGP6609.jpg IMG_0191.jpg

I bet, for here, this is really big, and pics can't do it justice, in life? It is huge and rugged.

I've climbed really big siver maples in Minnesota. And I know what you mean about being there in person.
