I had theorized that the solvent would indeed carry the oils then evaporate leaving the oils .Evidently then that must be the way they work .

Kroil also has a spray version.

I first heard about regular Kroil from Al.
I even sent him a piston with a stuck ring that I soaked in everything imaginable and it didnt budge, I baked the piston, I heated the piston in oils etc with no luck for a couple of months of trying on a project saw.
Sent it to Al in the mail with some gifts and he soaked the piston ring in Kroil and wallah unstuck ring on a piston I was ready to take a sledge hammer to.

Was just letting you know there is a spray Kroil out there also.
