It's going over Louisiana/Florida tonight your time. It has some new solar panels, so it should be easier to see.

I watch a lot of NASA TV,seen it twice,boy you need to be ready.That thing is really moving,17,500 miles an hour". Now with the last set of solar arrays deployed it should be easy to spot.Just watch for the bright light moving across the sky.Depending on light pollution,and how open the view of the sky is where you are,you might get to see it for more than 15 seconds.Trust me you'll know when you spot it,very cool indeed.Let us know if you see it,enjoy.

You need a dark place. I spotted 22 satellites from the bottom of the Kolob in Zion NP one night. Binocs help.

I have wanted to see it with the new solar arrays.


Seen it a bunch when I was younger, out camping just laying under the stars watching satellites. It was very noticeable then...

I don't remember watching for satelites...but I sure remember all the 'sonic booms' in the late 50s.

I saw Haley's comet when it went by many years ago. I remember seeing the shuttle in orbit as well, not a real often occurence up here as far as I know. The one time of year (as its right near my birthday) that I try to get outside to look a the night sky is for the Perseid meteor shower. annually in early to mid august.

Missed it. So much for "Sunny Sydney."

Rained Tuesday, Wed & Thurs. Cleared Friday afternoon, but heavy cloud came in. Best days were today, 5.36am, 3 minutes and Tues, 5.20am, 4 minutes.

Maybe I'll get lucky tuesday, at least I got to go to work today.

Thanks, that's the one I'm using.

Daylight saving ended today so tuesday is out, it'll be nearly sunrise.

I'll try night time next week but it's not visable for as long. This is interesting but a bit complicated.

I've seen orbiting stuff before and my first take is WTF,,still is.
I rarely magnify the sky at night any more,spotting a coyote 2 miles out on the other hand is right up my alley

I still haven't seen it, weather just hasn't been right, but I did see Sputnik. I'll never forget that.

Back to Sputnik. I'm glad I was there, they were exciting times. We only got TV the year before.
