Well, yeah, valid point if you do the overlap that way versus the opposite. But with that little bitty piece of wood, not too likely to rip away either way.
He's one of those who hits the brake after every cut. Lots of wear and tear on a safety device you want to work when really needed. Also a good way to stretch a chain real quick. Enough stretch may lead to another safety hazard.
