Idiosyncrasies

I like lightning, just not the heavy rain that sometimes go with it. The power of thunder and lightning is very informing.

Everyone has weird shit they do. When I cold crank my truck, I don't put it into gear until the clock shows that two minutes have passed.

I think your all wacked. Especially talking to stuffed animals in the supermarket :) But on the other hand, doing that would sure keep the religious folks, and all the other bothersome people away from you!

Might have to try that one, thanks for the tip.

If I see a penny on the ground and it is tails up, I will flip it over and not pick it up.
I like to collect pennies, and am always looking for 'wheaties'

I think there's never been a better time to be idiosyncratic. All a person has to to is put a Bluetooth earpiece in and they can talk to whatever inanimate objects they want without fear of being locked up.

I don't mind wind, I hate the sound of it. I put earplugs in on windy days and leave them in all day. It makes the day less stressful.

I have little bits of songs that I sing when I am in trees. When things are moving along smoothly its Girl from Ipanema, when I find myself climbing back up the tree for the nth time its a little bit of Helter Skelter by the Beatles, on sunny days its Let It Snow and there are a few more that I am not remembering.

I sing in the trees, too. Usually I'm not even aware of it.
One time as I came down from a birch, the customer asked me if all treeworkers sang opera, while working.
Turned out I had been blasting out sections of Mozart's " Die Sauberflüte" while taking the top out of the tree.
It must have sounded horrible, I can't carry a tune at all.

I can understand that in the frigid climes of Louisiana.:D

Andy, it would be more disturbing if Jay actually knew the words to that song.:P

i found in general most of us tree people are a bit nutty,
climbers especially
i sing weird songs and quote movies once in awhile
and apparently go off on my soapbox once in awhile
i talk to peoples dogs, keeps me from being bitten
i talk to the trees, and they show me things
i dont know that its nutty
just "connected"

I don't do it for the temps, more for the moving stuff around, getting lubed up, ect. I also take off nice and as slow as possible.

I'll apologize to a healthy tree when I'm killing it.

I seldom have a radio on in a vehicle because of years of driving stuff that was on it's last legs .I felt I had to listen for new rattles .

I was thinking about that today, Andy posted like everyone should know the words. I got as far as thinking that maybe it was by Eric Clapton, but the words still escape me .:?

I know exactly what you mean

ive been screamin for a radio in my pos chip truck,
wife fought me to get a seat redone for it,
instead i got a seat and fixed the doors and defroster, and wipers
now my butt dont hurt from the springs poking at it,
the doors close and open without having to roll down the window and i can see where i am going now, without using paper towels to wipe the inside of my windshield
BUT
i listen to the wind and odd rattles for hours everyday driving to job sites, the crew has my pickup and enjoys having tunes,
i get stuck singing whatever i last heard in my truck for the rest of the day
i damn near fall asleep listening to a gas motor purr and the wind a blowin, 1 day i may get me a radio for it 1 day

I sing in the trees too, talk to insects and all manner of creatures, and also apologize to some trees before killing them. I don't there's anything nutty about any of it. Except maybe the stuffed animals...:)
