how do you break in a new chainsaw?

I'm with everyone else, I've never "broke in" any machine, and never had a problem.

Summation, it doesn't matter.

It would not apply to a chainsaw engine .However what Magnus was refering to is something similar they used to do to new kart engines .

They would actually disassemble them and bake the block in an oven at 400 degrees a couple of times .

The grand-daughter cut the end off the pot roast before cooking it because her mom did it that way. Mom did it because it's the way grandma did it. When someone finally asked grandma why... Grandma replied - cause I didn't have a pan big enough to hold the whole pot roast.

Mom and daughter each had a larger pan, they just continued cutting the end off.

I'm sure I do similar things but won't know about it until someone else says something about it. :)

For me, anytime I take a new engine out of the box, I let it run for a few minutes before I put it to work. Like I already said. It's the first time the various components that make up an engine, will be used. Do I call what I do a break in, no. It's just me letting the thing run for a few minutes to make sure I didnt get a lemon. I don't time it, or make a strict protocol of it, I just start it and let it run a bit and get busy. Plain and simple.

If you get a Husqvarna, Jonsered or McCulloch assembled here in Sweden it will be second time it is run.
They are tested in factory before final inspection and packing.... All of them without exceptions!
They run a minute in a box, Idle, WOT and Idle. Emision is noted, saw adjusted if needed and of they go if OK..
Stihl I know do the same in Germay factory. Not sure about other brands and factories.

OK Magnus. If letting my saw run for a few minutes before I get busy is troubling you that much, I'll never do it again. Ever. As long as I live.

Im glad I didn't ruin them by doing so.

This is my bad. I was trying to help explain and realize it was not the smartest move I made.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I will try my best to focus on reading and not drift of and try to help anyone understand better here..

Explain where I am harming my saw or drop it Magnus. I want to know what EXACT harm I am causing. I don't want to know what you say is best, I want to know what damage I am causing to my tools by not abiding by your words. You cant bear to not have the last word. I seem to remember this routine from a few months back.....

I was just reading about young suicide bombers, they can make some awfully big explosions. That is one very messed up thing for sure. i'm up for peace, man.

Its not drama, just get off my shit for starting a saw the way I choose to. You know he acts like an asshole Butch. Ive watched you bang heads with him.
