They look neat and can be handy. But they are extremely expensive, you still have to have a way to foreward the wood to it, and the trailers are limited in what you can haul.
If you aren't scared of it, you can do about the same thing with a mini and a BMG in a dump trailer.

Thanks for fixing that. You think that 20K is extremely expensive? The one on the youtube dose not dump. I do agree that you would need something to get the stuff to it in some cases. Still cool thing in my book.

It's a sound idea, but getting a smaller, cheaper loader and trailer would be long term foolish. I was in the process of trying to decide about adding a loader to my truck or gooseneck before the wreck.

A full dump trailer makes better sense to me for an average tree company as compared to bunks.

just one 620.jpg
When I was looking at the I got this in the mail from the company.
They offer a 14' one too.

What brand is that , Dan?

Nothing like a mini loader and a dump trailer. My combo is at about 16-17,000, w/the trailer used.

The mini can haul the wood from the back yard, to the front, into the truck. Haul brush, scoop dirt, blah blah blah.

I do think they look cool as hell though, and dream of having one some day, but keep asking myself "WHY?"

Yes that 35k one looks sweet! I sub out all my debris removal, but I still like to look at toys.
That being said: I think I will be more looking for a mini loader in the future.

That's an Almand, B. Why is simple, it loads bigger wood faster and easier than a mini.

Like I said, $20k won't buy much.

The unit in the original post is an Ifor Williams trailer, manufactured about 40 miles from me, with an Estonian built crane. Its built to very strict EU regulations, so is built to a gross weight of 3500kgs. Take the weight of the trailer and crane into account and you'll be lucky to carry 2000kgs

I think they are grossly overpriced at $20k.

Ya but it's not going to haul wood through this spot. Residential tree work doesn't seem to come out in big pieces anyways, not where I work at least.

Then again in the second pic it woulda been tits.

Just need one of everything I guess. :D

There's a Lil OX and a Metavic on forestry forum, those look pretty sweet, and are in the new price range of 30k+ from what I understand.

I like your mini loader brenbon. What did you give for it?

Those cost about $12k new, but are no longer made.

For 20% more you can have a 427W Boxer that can lift 30-40% more weight over a foot higher with a travel speed 50% faster as well.

If I got one I would just use it to get the stuff to the curb for my Prentice Loader truck guy to get it.

Newfie Mike has one of those loader trailers, it works really well for his setup. They have a small chipper and 1 ton chip truck, then the F600 bucket truck hauls the log loader trailer.

I have a heavier duty bucket with a material handler built in, so I bought a 12K lb dump trailer and load it with the bucket truck. I have about a 35' reach with the boom plus about 100' of rope on the winch with up to 2000 lb lifting capacity.

Yep way over priced. If it's the combo I saw at a show the other year then the vid has been speeded up as what I saw was painfully slow to operate.

Carl- Yes, but I don't like using the winch when flipped over because I'm too far away from the pedestal and it is way too much leverage on the boom and base.
