anyone had experience with these booms?
I know of one that is avail, but has pressure probs with the upper boom. appears to not be getting adequate pressure to raise the cylinder.
is there an adjustment for the pressure, or is it time for a pump?
any ideas?

Never flown a Holan boom, but sounds like it needs the screws opened at the valve block, if it's just the upper that's slow, or a linkage adjustment.

For the money, it's worth checking out, anyhow.

Yes you can adjust the system pressure but if everything else is working correctly the problem is something else.

A pressure adjustment is about a 5 min ordeal, I would think if someone had gone to the length to find out what the problem is they would have fixed it. Sounds more like a bad valve, cylinder leak by or a bad safety block.

FWIW Holans are the worse of the worst. They are huge and cumbersome. Terrible resale on them.

J, is there an flow adjustment on each function on the Holan's?

There is on my HiRangers.

so whats the range of motion on them like?

are the parts still available?

its not a boom id want as a keeper, but maybe to get thru the summer with,
and only if i can get parts

thanks for your replys gentlemen, any more info on parts availability etc would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know about parts, As a general rule I have always stayed away from them.

I assumed there was a pressure regulator on the pressure side of lower controls (before the controls) that affects the whole operating system.

Even on a HiRanger I would assume the pressure goes into the control block in one spot. (but I am not familiar with the HiRanger)

But my point of it was that if it was a simple fix, wouldn't the seller have just fixed it instead of calling it out? I'd bet it has a big noticable problem that he's trying to make it seem like an easy fix. Just my .02

Not pressure.... FLOW. 2500 psi at only .0001 gpm is still going to move slow.

And yea, you're probably correct.
