I’m logging helicopter ground now, today was my first day and man it was slow. I’m embarrassed and curious if any one has any advice with board foot weights. I have a photo from the scribnar bios but I had to keep pulling it out and measuring the dbh of the butt. I’m not good with math and numbers..

Sorry Matthew, I can't quite get the details of your cut spects on my phone ATM . It's tough balancing grade logs vs. payload for the helicopter. Do you know what ship will be available yarding? Payloads are critical depending on the ship.

Well I’m cutting at 8,000 ft and I guess the black hawks can’t handle more than 600 board feet at this altitude. My preferred lengths on the fir is 20.6 and 41. Anything past a 20.6 is multiples of 2. The pine is 33, and 16.6. But it’s hard to get a preferred when anything over 28 inches becomes a short log. I’m overthinking a lot of it right now.
