I don't know what the timeout time limit is, but often when I am writing a reply, if I take too long, it logs out. The when it tells me to log in again, I've lost everything I've written.

Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Shorter posts?! You mean, don't get sidetracked whilst posting a reply!

Copy and paste is what I have been doing, if I can remember. Sometimes I just hit Preview Post, then it's gone. Does Welcome, (your name) at the top right mean you are still logged in? Sometimes I still see my name there, but when I hit submit or preview, or even go back to review at a previous post in the same thread, it'll say logged out and I lose everything.

It's in your cookie settings, and the timeout is 15 minutes. Try to type your post in less than 15 minutes. Once you get all your cookie setting correct (or switch to a better browser) then you can stay logged in forever and never have that problem again.

I'm on Safari as a browser, and the cookie setting is either accept always or never. You're saying there is a setting where you can stay logged in forever?

My mistake, I assumed you were using IE. I don't know anything about Safari.

And yes, I haven't logged in since I got my new computer a year and a half ago. One time, check the 'remember me' box and never have to sign in again. I have my password written down somewhere in case I ever need it.

Just curious.... Do you log in every time you visit the forum? If that's the case, click the auto login box when you log into the forum next time. Have a hunch that will solve the problem. It can be a user security thing built into the forum site.

I get timed out too but then again I'm windy as a sack full of butt holes .

Now then if you relog fast enough then go back you can still make your post if you are quick enough .
