It seems this years numbers are way down industrywide , our local area has cut back staffing , deep and early .... due to the ice storm I'll be fine but some people actually need these OPS jobs to get through the winter ... I figured we'd do allright cause most of customers drive here ... I hear the fly-in destination resorts are down like 30% .... It's a big blow for our little town .

It's been quite slow for Silver Star here in Vernon this year too. I have some friends that work up there and they are always telling me how dead it is. Silver Star relys on bigtime traffic from the US. I live just off of the ski hill road and it does even seem quieter this year, in years past I could get stuck on the main road for what seemed like forever trying to make the left onto my road when the hill was letting out. No problems this year though.:(

I went skiing at Copper Mountain yesterday and the snow was awesome! There was a lot of people in the high country this weekend but the x-games going on in Aspen prolly had a lil to do with it.

I think our local ski area is having a good, or even a great year. People that used to go to Co. are spending there bucks locally, is the word I'm getting. The parking lot is full on the right days, anyway. We've got a nice little mountain with good man-made snow. It's not Aspen, but it's affordable.
