No troubles with it. I have a design in mind for a CV hub that is also automatic but have to figure out the funding to pursue it, I am thinking about trying to quit tree work for good so am really getting more serious about trying to look for investors to finance some of my ideas and actually make a living doing it instead of paying through the nose...

For a year or two, I have seen a similar appearing hub on the cheaper commuter bikes here. Shimano might have cooked up something similar. Thanks for posting the vid. So, no click stops when changing gears?

Paul there is most deffenently room for some one to do stuff of that sort. This Nuvinci Hub has had my attention since I first heard about it.

I guess I didnt relize it was chain drive. I have of some having trouble with the various hubs when using belt drive. Problems with slop & getting the cogs to line up.

Best I can tell is it seems pretty straight forward. Some folks cant properly operate a screwdriver.

Yup Shimano has whats called the Nexus. But the Nuvinci is most likely a better unit.

Also remember the Shimano Nexus is geared unlike the Nuvinci Paul posted which is almost perpetual.

Here is a shaft drive for bikes animation with a pick also of Shimano's Nexus I couldn't get the animation of the shaft drive to embed.
