My Irish cousin Damian Dempster is cycling across America to raise funds for Alzheimer's research. My Uncle John was a brilliant research microbiologist who has lost his greatest asset, his mind...if you are interested here is his website:

Cheers!

I have a Japanese friend who cycled across the states, from Oregon to somewhere along the east coast. Like thirty some years ago, and he still talks about it. He liked the T bone steaks for lunch in the cafes and the nice waitresses.

Awesome, to your cousin Damian.
I applaud the lengths people will go for dedicating themselves to good causes.

Bicycling, Wow. I guess half of it is downhill. :)

I hope so! I think he's got a sore behind! We may get to meet up in August when I am on my way back to Tasmania, that would be cool, haven't seen him in like...15 yrs!
So sad about my uncle, he was a brilliant scientist, Alzhiemer's needs to be better understood, better prevention, better medications.
