Bought one, love this little thing, takes some sweet- azzed footage, all in HD.

sits on the side of the helmet, not on top making you look like a demented teletubbie:P:evil:

I have made a couple of short vids with it, and they turned out real well. Lou and I took a girl I know rec climbing yesterday for her 1st climb; used the roam on the climb, almost forgot i was wearing it.

Going to wear it today for a couple of small jobs

Couple of screen shots taken from the videos.

Carl, I found the camera online in a few places, about $200CDN give or take.

ps, nice to hear an Ontario accent :P

yeah Paul, it is in that range, give or take 20 bucks or so. I bought it at futureshop and the guy used his discount for the 16 g micro SD card, it would have been 75 bucks for the bard, i got it for 20 :)

like the accent eh? ;)

indeed, I had a fella from the GTA working for me for a couple few years, my ears used to perk up when his accent came out. The outs and abouts, a few other words, fairly distinct. As much as if I was to come out your way, I am sure my intonations etc would be noticeable.

I saw the camera on a couple websites for near the price I mentioned, didnt go looking for memory cards but just now I checked my local computer store, they have 16GB Kingston microSD cards from about $35 to $75, mainly around $60-$70 http://www.a-power.com/home-314

raining buckets here now, man, the last 2 weeks have been awful weather-wise.

Tell me about it...not buckets here, but the steady drizzle we are so famous for. At least the temps have been pretty mild still.

I prefer the top mount. I do like the instant-on record switch though. Waterproof too, I had to buy a waterproof case for the contour hd and I can really notice the extra weight.

you can put this on top, the lens rotates:) I like it on the side, maybe Petzl should shoot me some toys, seeing how the logo is in all the vids ;)

Perhaps one gets to like it, but a regular lens without the fisheye seems good to me. I find the fisheye distortion a little hard on the eyes when viewing the vid. The quality sure is nice, however.

the problem Jay, is you lose a lot of wide angle without the fisheye effect, makes it harder to see the whole picture.

Thanks for the advice today Cary, I just bought the same camera online. Now off to scripting and brainstorming, try to make some dough on Youtube as well as possibly get some promo reels done for my attempt to break in to the local tv market, maybe. ;)

serious? lol. I feel like I got hosed now. darnit.

I saw widow shooters post about getting one so i was checking it out on amazon and i added it to my wishlist and low and behold a couple days later i get an email with the discount and promo code... after playing with it and comparing it to the hd hero i think it is def worth the 169-199$ asking price but at $89 it cant be beat, but i doubt that price will last much longer if it is still in effect at all.

i bought mine last sunday, they even gave me free next day shipping for some reason.

ha, I took an Ebay seller at $199 CDN 'free' shipping a few days ago, still waiting to get the rig in, might have to do with Christmas etc. :)
