I gave out Christmas bonuses today. Didn't get to see the crew but my secretary was ecstatic! ;)

I felt like Santa Claus. :dur:

Good for you.
That is what the whole thing should be about.
Giving for the sake of giving and spreading happiness.

Well in a way I just heard a great bonus too .My daughter in law who has under went surgery and chemo for colon cancer is said to be cancer free .That's the best Christmas present I can think of .:D

Thats great Al. Were having our christmas party tonight, got the guys some company embroidered jackets and the secretary a detail job as her heater core leaked all over her car. And we can't really afford it with the new truck and a transmission and some big maintenance coming up but they will get a little bonus too. It is fun to be able to help out a bit:)

I gave all of our staff their Christmas bonuses today too. I love doing it too!

We decided that we'd had enough fun this year, climbing the Sequoias and all, so we pooled our bonuses and gave them to the secretary ( my wife)
She is retired but got sweet talked into doing the paperwork of the company ( in secret, or she'll loose part of her pension).
We have hired a part time secretary, but my wife has to teach her how everything works, and she really just wants to be shut of the whole thing.
So Richard suggested that we give her a substantial bonus to make up for the hassle.
Since we can deduct a $100 bonus for each employee, we simply pooled those and gave them to her.
Made one heathen find her x-mas spirit for sure:)

My guy got a Small bonus. He deserves alot more, real hard worker. He also got a nice carhartt coat with company logo.
Hope he gets to wear it before winter ends!!

I just give out cold hard cash and let the employees buy what they want.

I just threw cash at their feet and let them fight for who got the most. Keeps the pecking order well established.

So we had our little company Christmas party last night, twas a nice time

Awesome Al. Good on you everyone and especially Mr. Sir. I gave my guys a bonus also, I gave it in cash though. (shhh) I got a bonus from the sheller also. Enough for a couple of tanks of gas.

We used to do a really fun Christmas party back east at the college I worked at. First we would feed all the students steak and lobster. After their meal was done and cleaned up, we had the same meal with our staff (some being students themselves). Couple people would bring guitars and we would sing and drink a nice wine. It was our big thank you for all the hard work everyone did. My boss used to tell me that it was always important to have little gatherings like this to say thank you. Made the employees feel appreciated, and they got reminded that the upper management and staff were regular people too.
Took us 2-3 days to finish cleaning up and storing every thing for Christmas break (5-6 weeks). That party kept a smile on our face the whole time because we just felt better about it.

great news Al!!!

good to see everyones doing what they can for the fellas, i put a lil something in with their paychecks, which made them happy, sweaters and new workshirts on the way, and a gear order to freshen up the climbing gear should keep everyone happy till spring

We haven't got bonuses in years but a bunch of upper management types quit all at once so in the spirit of damage control we all recieved $100 Canadian Tire cards and some ill-fitting hoodies. Smaller outfits are definitely way better this time of year. Even if you get f-all at least you know it was sincere.

The crane guy says that after the new year and during the holiday, he'll be taking me to the public bath sauna extravaganza place a few towns over. All kinds of different pools with different effects.....you can eat and drink inside without ever changing out of your robe, and if you wish, spend the night for a few extra bucks. I've been to a similar place some years ago, super relaxing, and nothing like some negative image that one might have of a public bath if they had never been. It's like a little separate world inside there, and you come out feeling like the cleanest person in the universe. Fantastic way to chill.

Hot or cold? Same place you can get your katsudon that you like. They have it covered, MB. Katsudon is breaded and fried pork with egg over rice, if folks have never had it. Mighty tasty.
