So, My name is Billy, im fairly new to climbing-about 1.5yrs, I need some advice from someone that is "flat footed", Iam having a hard time wearing Loggers because of the arch they have, I know there is solutions for such problems, but insted of trial and error with 200 dollar boots, I would appriciate any insite, thanks

Welcome to the TreeHouse, Billy. I have foot problems, but I'm not flat footed; I have the opposite problem - high arches. I won't wear foot gear w/o good inserts, for sure. You may even have to go to a larger size to make everything (thick socks!) fit comfortably.

Billy is the guy in the air cannon video with me guys.

I agree that you should check out some premium insoles, maybe somewhere you can call and get a consult, not just buy from a catalog. I am sure options exist where you can make molds of your feet or boots or something. Maybe one of the better boot co's like Danner or WesCo would make you custom footbeds?

I think I have told you all this before though buddy. Anyway Welcome to the House, now go post in the new user thread under announcements.

I have one flat foot which is less than ideal. It bumped me from 11.5 to 12 wide. I feel better climbing in any shoes than walking around a lot on the ground. I don't think any advice I give is going to help unfortunately. I think you are just going to have to keep trying stuff out.

I thought that flat feet is a correctible problem with orthopedic shoes? Maybe you have to be very young?

I have flat feet and love my Redwings for Take Downs but prefer Asolos for trimming and winter as the steel toes suck the heat away.......

I climb in Limmers for prunings and Klima AIR for removals in spikes.

It is really great that we have so many boots to choose from these days. Kind of like our climbing lines.

I have club toes, so I need alot of room in the toe area. I recently bought new winter boots. Danner quarry 400g insulation. Best boots ever. Someone needs to get tophopper in on this one you all know we call him "Boots" at work.
