Baking a carabiner

Much of my kit is engraved with initials, using a dremmell.

Obviously needs doing in a place not to reduce any working strength, but sure is permanent.
 
Pretty much no affect on Heat treatment of steel below 500 degrees(F) no matter what the alloy. Brass anneals at approx 700 F. I don't remember about AL but I doubt anything significant happens at 325 and below.
 
Bead blast the factory anodized finish off. Either leave them finish-less of have them reanodized to any color you like. the more you can anodize in a shot the cheaper it gets per piece...
 
You should maybe stick to baking cookies, like Hiroyuki:
