Astronauts deal with flooded space station toilet

Now that can't be good :what:

I picture some dedicated roto-rooter man holding his snake and looking up at the sky. Alas.....

I used to use a snake a few times a year at a garden center I managed, the parking lot catch basins would plug most fall/winters a few times. its oh so nice to lay a couple pallets in the knee deep water, stretch out on the pallets, dip your arm to the armpit into the sludge water with a nice diesel skim (from the tractor) and shove the snake into the 4" pipe then back up and spin the sucker for 20 minutes to try to knock out the plug... yuck. been there, done that, no thank you.

thats one reason i wouldnt want to be a full time plumber!!!!!!!!! my shop took floodwater last year--yuck!!!!!

I've been trying to clear my drain for two weeks. Now I know all about toilets and drains and stupid * city engineers who can't lay a drain line without 9 elbows in it.

It's funny to think that they even cuss lo-flo toilets in space. Worst idea ever.

That was one of the most stupid things they ever did .Sure the crapper will flush on a gallon of water but it takes 3 flushes to get down a tiny turd .

I suppose it might work okay if one defacated in shifts .

I want a toilet that can flush a beer can.

Its called a porta-potty, been around for years ;)

My friend had an apartment block and he told me about a requirement he had written on the rental agreement that no one could have a fish tank or a water bed.
The water bed I could understand but I questioned him about the fish tank.
He told me that somehow gravel always gets flushed down the toilet.

The gravel will settle in a 'P' trap and cause a back up. But when you go to use a snake to clear it out, the gravel just moves aside and lets the snake pass.
Shortly afterwards the drain clogs again.
