Question for all: Can I attach my Akimbo 2 directly to my rope bridge (TreeRex 2 saddle)? I would like it as low as possible so my hands have more room when climbing. Thanks to all in advance!

Good pictures, @tarrtreestuff.

I don't see any glaring issue with mounting the Akimbo as you have, though I wouldn't want to have mine basically permanently hanging on my bridge...I change climbing systems too often for that, depending on the tree. Your mileage may vary :).

But I am pretty sure I would not use that rope grab on my bridge. I have little doubt that its grip surfaces will cause much accelerated wear to the bridge. Sure, the bridge is an easy piece to monitor and change out, but still...not optimal from my perspective, and not really needed either (again ymmv, you may find need to adjust your bridge length frequently, while I never do, nor have met another climber who does).

Idk... that seems like it will feed wrong.

I use one on my flipline for a 90⁰ turn on hip Ds.

The Akimbo should fairlead downward if directly attached on a bridge. Right?

I still don't recommend direct attachment. The akimbo attachment point is too narrow and sharp sided to be put directly on a bridge. IMO.

Biner+twist.
