Wife and grandkids went to a safari park today. Took a picture of the wolves for me. Kids: " they look just like Thais!". Indeed.

Thais dog went timbercruising today. The forester and his dog, both of whom are Thais's best friends, were marking trees to be felled. Since I was working near by, they came by and picked him up. So he spent the day doing his favourite thing......................marking trees.

Nope. It dropped to minus 10 celcius today. The bearing on my bar tip blew out, when I came down to the truck for another bar, the poor guy was sitting there shivering. Fortunately I'd anticipated that and brought the late Sam's winter coat along. He was somewhat mystified about the coat at...

I took the ATV for a 5 mile spin in "my" forest today, to give Thais a workout. Fine thing about being the forester there is I can get away with stuff like that. Be one hell of a fine if I was caught anywhere else on an ATV with an unleashed dog. Dirty, tired and happy dog!

We don't get snow much anymore. Global warming put an end to that. And Grandma is looooong dead. By chance I met the surgeon who operated on my foot in the forest. He quite laughed about the fact that I had to run my dog that way. He also took a look at my foot and pronounced it healing fine...

Kinda hard when one can't walk. Thais is getting cabin fever, badly. So on x-mas evening, just before dark, when everybody are home, preparing dinner, I drove down to the forest behind my property, let him out of the truck and drove all the way through the forest. Made for a tired and happy dog.

Last day of the short logging job today. We had the ATV with us, so I let Thais have a good run in the woods.

I usually give Thais a bath in spring. but hes was so unspeakably dirty, that i decided to do it now. Somehow that made him drop the fur. Someone is in for a cold winter. He is enjoying the reward for a fur trim, some sort of dead pig.

Thais did me proud today. I was walking with the guy, who works as the only hired guy at Jægerspris forest district, where we spend most of our time now. All the rest of us are :" Have saw, will travel". Going to check on some trees, we planted in spring. Walking through hip high Bracken fern...

The owner of Nordfeld castle where we log every year, went to Knuthenborg safari park with her daughter. As they were looking at the Wolf pack, her daughter said: " There goes Thais!" A white wolf that looked exactly like him. Kirstine, the daughter has decided that when the time comes for her...

Doesn't work for me. Gotta be able to see the wolf in them or they don't appeal to me. A cocker spaniel is not a dog to me. Some kind of inbred rat creature with big floppy ears, but not a dog.

I've thought about it, Mick. Problem is, for me to be able to bring my dog to work, it has to be 100% safe around wildlife. No chasing deer, hares, fowl, whatever. Thais is so good with that , I have permission to let him run loose on 3 forest districts: Ledreborg, Nordfeld and Jægerspris. In...

Burnham, Thais is going to be my last dog. I was thinking of getting a pup, but then Margot asked me to think the logistics through. I'm 66 years old. That pup will live for some 12 years, meaning I'll be near 80 years old. An age I have no intention of living to. Feeling old and decrepit enough...

Whatever you do, don't get a Norwegian Buhund. They bark non stop, all day long. She is beautiful, are you going to use her for what she was bred to do?
