Bottom of a water tower tank. Man lift. Thread the needle getting up through the legs and supports.

That lift is an old piece of junk too. If I disappear off the forum it probably killed me.

I’m fine in the lift as long as I’m “in” a tree. With the lift and the tree waving around differently and just hanging in space it’s disorienting and unnerving. We had a welding job recently where the guys had to go 136’ up. Went through three until we got two that could stick it out, and even...

*50’ up with the bucket and the trees blowing around is…interesting. My sphincter got a workout. Y’all that climb those are cra-, uh, brave.

So…the customer is always right, right? “We don’t care about that car or the concrete, just cut it”. Ok…💣 (The car is kind of banged up and doesn’t run…) I just didn’t want to hit the almost finished brand new roof. Couldn’t reach the top and the wind was blowing the fronds all over. 1hr.

These are next, in a couple weeks after they redo the lines. The one will have to be pulled towards my truck, the other two can go with the lean.

I guess I won’t know til I get up in the bucket. Hope to flop. I was thinking to use the tops as sails. Maybe take the back side fronds off first. Then chunk as necessary. To make a chunk jump off the stump, I think kind of closed face (how deep?), thin hinge(gut it?), shove it hard to get...

Gonna demo these tomorrow. Wind is supposed to be from the south instead of the usual west (pictured) so it will help me bomb them into the yard, just make it a little warm. Not liking the one hanging over the house.

I forgot to get a before pic. So google will have to do. Ash on the right had one top break and fall to the right on the Indian laurel. Another was hanging down in the driveway. The other smaller tree to the West had a bunch of dead limbs in it. I suspect too much sun. Knocked the dead out and...

Don’t drink it. Drinking water is trucked in. The history of water here is pretty crazy. Well water seems to be only good for geothermal energy. I didn’t see a video about it at a glance but the flume in Yuma is pretty crazy too. Canal tunneled under a river way back when.

I dunno. Houses in the country get their water from canals. They feed a cistern and the cistern has a pump that feeds that pressure tank.

I probably posted pics of this tree last time I cut the dead out. Belongs to one of my welders, his wife’s grandparents place where they now live. Was going to be a removal but she had us stop here. We’ll see… Lots of targets to miss.

Cut the dead out of this Euc. Lots of bug holes. I’ll be surprised if the tree survives. Last one is a hard leaning elm I’m to prune back from over the wires later.

It’s done. All the felling and bucket work anyway. Still got trash and big stumps to clean out. 2-3 years of working at it on and off. The ones hanging over the house. Bug JLG lift. The height and reach were nice but it was handicapped and tedious to use due to all the safety stuff. Got pretty...
