Dan Mayer himself always said, when asked how can you afford these cranes doing treework, that the cranes make so much money so fast, he couldnt possibly afford not to have them. But still, when 'everyone' has a huge crane, does the metric change?

Yeah aite, bump. The OP date is 2010. Since then, the Mayer Effect has spread slowly but surely in the northeast area. There is one outfit in my hood, "Rayzors Edge" and actually quite a few in MA and NH- East Coast Tree service, Tree Masters, Marquis, Warwick Tree service, etc etc etc. All...

My understanding is Senneboggens were originally designed and manufactured in europe/Germany for markets there. They rule for roadside clearing and cutting back. Mayer was the first to utilize them in 'Merica. Another interesting thing I observed about the Senneboggens doing town work here-...

Idk but while they certainly require some maintenance, after watching 2 of em work for a couple hours, the routine maintenance looks minimal as they are highly similar to an excavator. Distintinctive Tree was working on I-95 in town for approx 2 weeks and one day while I was driving by around 6...

Bump. But yeah, the times they are a changing. I've been meaning to post on this topic. The "Mayer Effect" is here fully set up in my area. It took about 12 years to get here from Mass. but it's here. One guy next town over bought one of Mayer's 3060 and then bought a new one and then just...

I appreciate that offer. When I used the CT treeco during Sandy, I already had a good personal relationship with them, and if the Mayer proposition had worked out, I had a trust in what I know of them. I wouldn't feel right about teaming up with someone I don't know. Requests for treework...

I could be wrong, but I think Chris Girard mentioned he worked with them for a day, they had police escorts from job to job as they needed police for traffic control at each job, I wanna say he said they grossed $60K that day:D:D:D:\::\:

Yeah, my experience is that there is a definite strong positive vibe on the Mayer team, very friendly, very willing to help. 09, their Fallbach only reaches up to 75' I believe, but it can take a massive piece at the height so that is often plenty high enough,

Alrighty then. This is a10 year old thread, I'm just checking it to add some to it. There's just way too much to write but I'll do what I can. Re reading this thread, I see everyone who knows mayer tree and Dan Mayer had only good things to say. That alone says a lot. I reached out to Dan...

Mayer is obviously quite a tree guy but I would say he is many times more a people guy with powerful business acumen.

One wraptor?? They'll probably order 3 or 4 and then one more for the store. Remember, they want to maximize mechanization to minimize the wear and tear on the bodies. I've also seen 2 of their log trucks.

According to google, the average home price in my town is about $585k; the average in the Mayer backyard (Ipswich) was high $300k's. So, they don't appear to be getting it done by just working high dollar neighborhoods. But they definetly take in more per bucket crew than I do. They believe in...

I doubt it. If you had a fortune, seems like there would be easier/wiser places to put it to use than in tree service.

Yep, those vids show some of their fleet in the background. Almost forgot; they have a company store open to the public that is crammed with every Stihl available, and spools and spools of rope, and a wide assortment of climbing and rigging gear.
