That's a good pic. I can imagine the volume by looking at those people in the stands. I'd have to wear earplugs AND earmuffs! Three cuts in 4 secs, including starting the saw?! Wow, impressive! What's the current record, and do you have any video links?

Who is that running the saw? Wouldn't you want some more heavy duty hearing protection?

Good point about the "post-rigging!" Never thought of that for videos, but I do think about it when I'm up top looking down at the ground person trying to untangle the mess. Good rigging contributes to overall speed, ease and safety, even after the piece is on the ground, yes?

Me, too! Everybody's videos just show making the cut and then the piece falling. I'd like to see some action of the rigging! Now with drones, it could be done to capture the full perspective.

I think in most things, the easier somebody makes it look, the better they are at it.

I think it had to be staged. Nobody would leave a car THAT close. Plus, look how perfectly the tree landed in the middle of the car, even with some guys pulling it in a different direction. Pretty good. Uh. . . number 4 ball in the corner pocket. . .

I knew you were going to say that! How would they do it? And how do they deal with the potential of somebody's generator backfeeding in to the lines, even tho the power is supposedly cut?

Burnham, (or anyone), let's say you got the call to take over, now that the tree is leaning into the high voltage lines. How would you proceed from there?

I liked the folding cut, too.
