We kind of have a Xmas tradition of sauna and a dip in the fjord. Air temp was about -6c. Sauna temp was in the 90c’s. Sea temp was 1.5c according to Google. Rapid immersion was the wisest way to get used to the cold followed by rapid climbing up a frozen ladder about 5 seconds later. Damn...

Joe Rogan swears by the 3 minute ice bath before a workout. I should do it really. There is a pretty cold body of water just 40m from my house. The fjord freezes over outside my house occasionally. It always freezing further down the fjord and when the temps rise we see big ice sheets...

A lot of Thai boxers and pro MMA fighters are using cryotherapy to aid recovery. Never tried it myself, but when I used to run a lot, I used to shower for 5 minutes at the coldest temp and spray just the legs...

As for balls hitting the water at the same time as them knees..? When I have jumped into the fjords and it is cold, I usually have 3 Adam’s apples and don’t see my nuts again for a good few hours.
