It's been a few years, but linux has several drafting programs, and they don't cost 1000s a year either, in fact they're free.

@flushcut grab a few of these or similar, this is what you are looking for. Shop around, they are asking over 50 lol, and that's not even close, guess more around like 30. Ss aren't cheap, but neither is aluminum. That style is exactly what you need tho. And only use it on aluminum!!!!!

Yeah, wire wheel all day. Also if you hit your weld areas right before you weld them, they weld much easier and better because you get rid of the oxide layer. Aluminum is all about getting rid of the oxide layer to get to the actual metal. Think if it like taking paint off before stick welding...

Good question.... usually chalk is used for files. What are you using a burr bit for? If you are just smoothing out welds i would get a high quality stainless wire wheel, stringer brush style. The ones that have the wires twisted tightly in sections, designed for cleaning pipe and other deep...

Nothing wrong with that either! Really you only need tig for certain stuff, a spool gun is better for most. I just assumed tig, mainly because I've done more of it.

The aluminum is nice man, you are definitely getting some use out of that tig welder!

The non tailing winch works just fine, just a little more awkward. I can't trust those wincher things to reliably hold, but i always thought about an idler pulley the length of the drum to act like a hand holding it, which is what they teach for sailing as the proper way to lower a capstan. More...

Ain't pretty, but she works well. Non self tailing but other than that it does great. Have the drill attachment for it as well :)
