Finally got a milling job. Walnut in West Montrose.

Supposed to have a milling job today but my f150 wasn't supposed to break the front coil spring in 3 places. Anyway got the strut changed. Decided to troubleshoot my 088 that didn't run up to power after I rebuilt the carb, turned out it just needed to be tuned. A little off from what I remember...

Couple milling jobs from last week. Beech and sugar maple. 088 sounded lean after a cut, runs good now, all I did was take carb apart and spray it down.

My biggest problem is the first start of my 088s, really ruins the day. I've been doing this for just a little while and with the mill anchored by the winch and the bolts of the bar clamps sitting in the grooves of the bed liner the saw starts up a lot easier pulling with my whole body.

Finally got some milling on Hamilton Mountain. Honey Locust.

Some crap sugar maple I had.

I'd cut it thick and hope for some curly or birds eye.

I used full chisel, skip, 3/8 .050 . I usually don't mill that small diameter, a few of them I put 2 logs side by side.

Milling some small walnut just up the road from me in Ancaster. Used my 660, trying to save my shoulder.

Hey, why not mill on a hell of a hot day, for fun, add a bunch of metal! Walnut 13' long 2' diameter.

I've been doing a lot of milling but not taking pics for some reason. Today a quick cut up on a 9' long 26" dia ash. I had to replace the fitting and valve on the aux oiler. The fitting snapped and the ball valve got lubed up so much that the vibration would open the valve wide open.

I hold the trigger, for now. Planning on a remote trigger, with lock.

This walnut was busting my nuts. Tough milling for some reason. 28" wide

Nice find! How much did it cost for it and the repairs if you don't mind me asking.

Back to milling today. Only a 24" wide norway maple, one I took down and I'm keeping the wood. My 088 started up first damn pull, not even choked, after it was put away early last December.

Nice! I have the same problem, a lot of people asking for wood, I do have, but not dry yet. I cut some hackberry a few months ago, a thinner slab, it's.down to 20% air dried. Taking it to Brantford tomorrow to throw in the kiln.
