    It did not, but I watched some sci fi movie in a class in high school that had a convincing beginning, and one student asked the teacher in the middle of the movie if it was real. It had something to do with radio telescopes finding an alien transmission and building a transportation device.

    It is well written, and could easily convince people, except the mention of future times can somewhat reduce the realism. The best science fiction is that which is very convincing.

    I'm sure they wouldn't make that big of a mistake on size, and probably would be certain it will hit IF it was going to hit. 2029 is supposed to have a "large" and "close" asteroid, which when you think about it, will likely not be visible, and very roughly at the same distance as the moon...
