Careful with a bigger ear on the ram or the extensions. That will increase dramatically the side force on the joints/ ram. This system works best in line. Any kind of "side something" tends to bend the assembly and if you go bigger, that may overload the components and bend/break a part.

The norm for the steel toes boots ( or composite) is to sustain an impact of 200 Joules. That's the fall of a weight of 200 kg from 1 meter high, so 440 lbs from 3.3 feet. It's designed to prevent the most common small injuries to the feet, not to stop a truck load of logs, a container or a...

Or it just disapeared in a space time gap, nowhere to be found, even in some stupid locations. :X I have 3 sets of flat wrenches but I can never find the useful ones.

The main culprit is the light, but other ways are possible to wreck the plastics. The energy brought by the light cuts the polymeric molecules when the right wave length matches the energy activation level of a particular link betwenen two atomes. Polyethylene family is very sensitive, polyester...

Maybe Gary would say bambou. Or are they too flexible for the expected diameter? In the pic, I'd say that the blade has too much of an angle with the pole. When pulling it, the teeth may just sink in the wood and be stuck instead of gliding on it and severing the fibers.

Yes, specialty for manipulating , but I suck completly at it. All I'd have is the inconvenience of the giant rebound when trying to get the aimed crotch. I already saw what a rebound can do with a cordura bag and the bigshot. I don't want to try a rubber missile.

It surprises me that ash is often used for critical use like tool's handles and spokes in old wood wheels, but appears not so reliable as a tree (sound tree, not even telling about diseased tree).

It seems that a badger (one or more probably a family) is wrecking the property of my parents. Beside the dozens of test holes, the area elected to become the live center is bored by 3 main entrances and some secondary holes. The amount of dirt excavated is impressive, I mean HUGE, like 2 or 3...

I want to make an apta too. I have a DIY Big Shot (genuine sling though) but I don't use it often. A down side is the inconcistancy and the loss of power in the cold weather. With repeated shots at short span, the bag goes less and less high. To reduce the problem, I tend the rubbers and lock...

I lolled at baby trailer. Mine is 0.86K capacity and 3.25 x 5 box. But I have my father's one too, much bigger at 4 x 6.6 box (0.83K though ,stupid legislation.). Comparatively, it looks like they are made just to go shopping. :D

I guess, it's like the chisels and planes for woodworking. You get nothing valuable with a file, way too rought. The key is a set of very fine abrasive stones to obtain a polished surface on the both sides. The difference in cutting is amazing, both in ease and in quality. No need to go creasy...
