    Yeah, we often use mesh tarps over landscaping that would be hard or impossible to rake. Even gravel so clean up is faster. Harbor Frieght has some pretty reasonable mesh tarps.

    Get a mesh tarp. That way it can double for load handling if you have to haul stuff off.

    I use tub lids a lot since I store rope in them, they are often close at hand. flaking onto it for isolating etc.

    I tried making a throw line tarp set up. Canvas. Went right back to cubes. Tangled way more than a throw line cube. Tangles will always happen. Just like anything, mitigate the problem with a back up plan. Move on. Do job.

    Buckets work fine. As long as you dont kick them :D Old junk lines, beat up cube, i keep a couple handy for leaving a line in a tree I need to come back to. That way, if we get called out on an emergency Or something, good lines are handy.

    always have more than one cube and line with weights set up grass hopper. You can pull an untangled line in to pull your rope up with. then the tangle won't set into a tight knot you will have to deal with. I keep 3-4 throw line set ups in each truck. You get one stuck, pull out the next one...

    Wrap around a 2" stick or porta wrap. Give it some friction as you flake it. It helps. Pink Zingit sux. Yellow 2.2 rocks.
