    How'd it go today?

$265/day for that Vermeer? Closest Vermeer dealer to me is 90+ minutes away either SW or NE of me, and they want extra for their root grapple, on top of being $300/day. My Toro dealer only has the TX1000 & TX2000 for rent (number is their operating capacity.; new TX1300 is not worth it, even if...

    How'd it go today?

Had a break from the on again, off again rain today, so got the remnants of the Norway Maple out of my yard. Filled the last third of the chip truck, and about 16 4-6ft. log sections taken to the drying pile. Still a ~60ft high pecker pole hanging off the side I need to clip before I flop the...

This is the pig that snapped yesterday. It was already on my list of trees to go, now a lot less climbing to do on it...

    How'd it go today?

Stupid heavy rain and thunderstorms here snapped a ~70', boomerang shaped, Norway Maple in my front yard. Third tree in 8 months to take out utility lines to my house. Will have to spend tomorrow cleaning it up to rescue siding piece that was ripped off and give me room to repair the wall...

Making sense there, John. You know that's not allowed in the state of nonsense we each reside in...

    How'd it go today?

Just a day of log splitting with son and groundie today. Got about 4.5 cords stacked on pallets. Then had dinner via the kid, followed by baking and then a game of cribbage. Awaiting baking results b4 passing out.

    How'd it go today?

Was out late last night, so mostly stayed in bed til almost 11 this morning. Got out, and joined renter out in the wood pile. Spent 2 hrs. and 3+ tanks of fuel breaking in a new MS261. Then hand split some locust, oak and ash as a gift for friends providing Zach & I dinner. Spent the evening...

    How'd it go today?

In this case John, yes on shaving the $, as they've had me take out a bunch of dead Ash the past few months, and are a bit "tired" of having to make out any more checks to me.

    How'd it go today?

Chipper and chip truck in the shop, so myself, Junior and brush monkey wrecked a dead white oak in back yard of neighbor of ex's. Gnarly f'er, about 70 ft tall, crooked limbs, and a couple 20+ footers hanging over fence and shed. A few throw lines over limbs over shed and fence for tag lines...

    How'd it go today?

Had to bail out of the armpit and drive out to retrieve Junior for winter break. 860 solo miles out to Peru, Illinois in 13.5 hrs with 2 20 min stops. Waved at Big Al, Treebilly and Fiddler today, and will sling a drive-by hello to Kyle and Rajan tomorrow en route to Ames.

    How'd it go today?

We still have some here. My ex has 2 90+ fotters that we treated 2x already; no borer damage on either. My brother's condo complex treated over 60 of them 3 years ago; still 58 with us and mostly all healthy. I know of a few others, but most are dead/declining majorly.

    How'd it go today?

Quick hitch to get rigging rope back up to me when I'm away from block/rings or tag line out on a limb. Also gets confused on the slip knot when I need to refuel/change saws. I may just be a tad impatient, seeing how I haven't really had anything resembling decent full time help for almost 2...

    How'd it go today?

Multi-day recap: Thu: Junkyard job. Removed a bunch of black locusts from one side of the yard that had cars cleared. Those nasty f'rs and a bunch of small weed trees/shrubs 3/4 filled the chip truck. Awaiting car moves to do the other half of the lot; 2 more Locusts and a humongous Empress...

    How'd it go today?

Did a junkyard job today. Had to climb some ~30 ft., multistemmed, Asian water weed that grew up and over structure, another 30' skinny one on the back corner I could fell, and a pile of "junkyard limbs" he wanted chipped. I was there for just under 2 hours, and I made a lot of stuff disappear...

    How'd it go today?

Long ass day today. Started early stacking the logs from my mishap yesterday (about 40 of them, most 14 - 18"), and got them on top of the chestnut oaks I snagged last month). Reattached the one screw on the gutter. Then spent an hour looking at my place and the ex's for my lunch bag, which has...

    How'd it go today?

While you're mostly correct John, it unfortunately puts me in a shitty situation with at least one customer's job that I won't be doing today, as I haven't slept since and am in no shape to climb and deal with shuttling trucks this morning. I have 3 jobs lined up through Sunday, all with time...

Pics of the mishap.. The one to the right in the 2nd pic is the upper one that failed and took out the lower one. Both about 40' long and 8-12"' where they broke off. Looks like I may have gotten away with only a shingle or 2 off the roof and a gutter that'll need some TLC. I was planning on...

    How'd it go today?

Well, just got woken up by something hitting the house. Went out back to meet the neighbor to discover my "specimen" oak dumped 2 of the limbs over the house into the yard. The noise was loud, and thankfully the limbs that broke appear to have just glanced the house/run off the roof, but at...
