    On my '97 f150 it said on the VIN "Made in Canada assembled in Mexico". I just went out and looked at the '04, nothing of the sorts on the VIN tag. So I can neither confirm or deny it.

    One little problem Stephan. More of the Toyota truck is probably built in the US than the f150!! A lot of the parts are made in Canada, then it's assembled in Mexico.

    First, I would dump the 4x4 and get a locker/lsd instead. Lots cheaper, better gas milleage, and better traction, UNLESS you have a 4x4 with a locker. I had a '97 f150, it was a prety good truck, five speed and v6. Beat it like a dog. Had to redo the heads and gaskets, lost the crank pulley and...
