    Pruning small oak off eaves?

The tree doesn't really mind the house... it can ru it for years and not worry. The pruning is for the house / human. If the human wants it visually balanced for the human's sake, then sure small cuts. Less than 20-25% crown removal. Less is more, sometimes. A horseshoe-shaped callus is...

Skylining/ high-leading 450 pound micro chipper into forest

We're all on the same page. I've got a low-use 5/8 and moderate/ light use 9/16 stable braid. I wonder how to combine/ piggyback those two as skylines, using 1/2" stable braid as a lowering/ haul- back line. I recall I have a brand new 9/16" atlas line, too. Definitely, guyed. It's a...

    Pruning small oak off eaves?

Small thinning cuts (to the origin of the removed branch from the 'parent' branch for a few feet of clearance from the house. Branch collar cut via 3-point pruning cut method. Hand saw. Check for oak wilt season. Lysol spray for sterilizing, if desired.

Skylining/ high-leading 450 pound micro chipper into forest

I need someone with some good math (or the Google) to calculate lateral loads. I think that with two people with intercoms with two power sources for tensioning, it should go well. As a starting point, I hope to just move the chipper cross-country, maybe with some MA or pull rope on a...

Skylining/ high-leading 450 pound micro chipper into forest

Not sure on nomenclature. Thoughts on wire rope or 5/8" stable braid as a skyline. If like to move the chipper about 75' across the forest. Tall trees are around. Headed downhill to work site, then back up to the road at the end. I could probably reduce the weight by 100 pounds by detaching...

Makes for happier lungs. I wear a respirator regularly. We have minimal to no summer rain so it gets dusty without grinding or blowing.

Hazard tree removals and slope stabilization featuring virtually no- drag and a 14hp micro drum chipper. The eroding slope, 45⁰ and steeper in bits, that supports this 1980s house has lots of bare soil. I've removed 2 other good sized trees and some small ones. We'll add more mulch and plant...

Brush blocks most people. It can be moved by hand and yet be big enough to tangle under someone's car.

First day climbing in the rain. Spur job. Ezpz. Seemed like zero dust. Micro drum chipper is very good for 2-3". 4" max. Feeds well. Mulch direct spray into bare soil on a steep slope. Unchipped 3"+ limbs and trunk wood to be used for along-the-contour erosion control (soil catches, slowing...

Flare depth is decent. Small girdling roots in front? Small screen, here. Small thinning cuts and light reduction, a bit heavier reduction on the house side. Probably lots of small dead wood (a pole knocks lots loose, quickly). Go back in 2-3 years to quickly groom and maintain it...
