Dying cedar to near shop. root disease doug-fir reduction upwind of shop. Even after topping, I was 60' short of rope to MRS. At least a 200' rope. Same tree, further away.

Swung around on a bridge of poison hivee for years. Stay away from dyneema or other aramid fibers. Or anything with low melting point.

That's a big bar for up there. I've had really good luck moving giant rounds with a wedge like you have and a simple 24"crow bar- gives plenty of force in a small, light package

The amount and size of wood to move off site is a limiting factor for our equipment. There is so much quartering I am willing to do. This elm spar was still 30ft tall when I took this picture. Bigger companies can have big jobs. No shortage of trees in CT.

2024 Avant 528 less than 400 hours "NOT MINE"

This will go quick, but wanted to share. Guy is asking $35K for a 2024 Avant 528 with bucket and grapple (bmg style dangle grapple). I paid over $50K for my 2021 Avant 528 brand new. This is a steal! You may need to join the Avant group to see the message. Or contact me if you want to get in...

How busy are you this year compared to other years?

Challenge accepted sir!! I'm doubling down to corner the snow plowing market here in south Texas. We haven't had measurable snow since '21 so there isn't any entrenched competition.

    Pruning small oak off eaves?

I did. Looks like 💩 . Should have started small…why I don’t prune. Got a piece of bark stuck in my eyelid at a real bad time too and couldn’t get it out, had to go to eye Dr. this am.

    Saddle bridge

I'd stick with a class 1 rope construction, poly/nylon. As long as its strong enough, it's fairly well up to you, it would seem.
