    Employment and Training Woes

Yeah, but at whose expense? It takes a couple of years minimum to take a complete novice to something approaching a commercial climber, that’s a considerable investment in time and money, especially if that person leaves for whatever reason soon afterwards, believe me I know. Large firms with...

    How'd it go today?

Burnham, It was a radio repeater node a friend had set high in a tree. They are Meshtastic, LongRange (LoRa), rechargeable and/or solar-powered, 915MHz radios which create a mesh network, passing messages from one to the next. It is an off-grid communication system which would be a way to...

    Employment and Training Woes

I wouldn’t worry about bachelor degrees if you want to be a climber. Get a job with the utility people (or someone) and get some saw time.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

We are heading up to the rainforest on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula tomorrow for several days. No surprise, the forecast is for rain :D.

    How'd it go today?

Rescued a LoRa Meshtastic node from a tree twenty minutes south of me this morning. On the way home I bought some magnetic tool holding strips. I’ll use them placed in a routed out slot in the back of a nice piece of wood to mount the kitchen knives on the wall… Now off to see a play: Pygmalion.

    Employment and Training Woes

Not sure what a bump is, should I have commented somewhere else? Did a small land clearing job on a 5 acre lot when I was 19, made some of the basic mistakes and had learning experiences that come with your first time operating a saw. Grateful to have a great guy teaching me and looking out...

What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

I made another lentil instant pot tonight. Each one is a little different, depending on what's in the fridge. This time I added a big handful of kale and spinach after it was cooked. Too easy.
