    Battery falling off Husqy

I had my early Husky batt saws offering to let the battery out - side loaded. 535iXP or 536iXP not positive which. They had two side spring locks as you say and they each had two lock positions. One position all the way engaged and a second click partially out of position but still not ready...

    New Stihl Power Pruners

I use the extendable Husky a lot with a 12 inch bar. It's strong enough in the cut and has surprising torque. Big benefit over gas pole saws is that there is no shaft running down the length of the pole. So any occasional bend is just an annoyance for looks and balance but doesn't stop...

    Stahl's logging supplies

Yes, plus or minus a few bucks. That was what I was used to last time I bought rolls from them but had to have them sent to Oregon as they wouldn't send to CA. This time I started with Baileys because of shipping and heard the $600 price tag and thought...gotta love covid. Double checked at...

    ArborFest put on by Sherrill

"I had intended to post up about the TreeTopia event once I got back but life (and lazy) happened. This was the best tree event I have ever been to with lots of great learning, visual stimulation, fun, people to share it with, and all in an incredible setting with great weather. It looked like...

    ArborFest put on by Sherrill

The new event put on by TreeStuff is TreeTopia and is at cool breezy Mare Island instead of hot Sacramento. I see Jerry Beranek will be there both days. https://treetopiausa.com/

    Stahl's logging supplies

I went to Baileys on some 100 foot rolls of Stihl chain a couple of months ago, $600+/- a roll. But then I check Madsens and it was $365 or so. And they will make up loops for you at a couple of dollars per loop. I'll have to try the Stahl sometime too.

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Speaking of "smelling weird" I wonder if some sort of natural anti microbial would help with that. Colloidal silver? Tea tree oil or rosemary oil if it didn't damage textile or cause skin irritation?

    Bar oil 4.95 a gallon

I was all set to order 40 gal. Did the best I could to check that it wasn't a picture mix up as $4.95 is the past price I remember seeing at some idiotic places for one quart. Started an online chat - that person says it is indeed a gallon....putting in an order for 40.... One last check from...

    Spider lifts?

Absolutely take him up on it. If you worked free for him for a day or more it would be best investment you ever made.

    Spider lifts?

"Opinions on all the lifts....." After deciding what you want a lift to do for you (easiest way to rule lifts out of the running) it gets a lot simpler to look. For instance if the SD64 were tall enough and narrow enough for most of my work it would be a slam dunk decision as it looks so fast...

    HOBBS mod

I like the simplicity of the ratchet wrench mod as an addition to the Hobbs. Just used my GRCS on a job to lift big branches and big wood. Love the right tool for the right job.

    T540i fail

I let a T536i and two batts sit overnight in a few inches of water - that didn't do them any good. I've been meaning to take them apart and clean up contacts etc. After reading this I think I'll recycle them and call it a lesson learned about not keeping $40 toolboxes with cracks that can let...

    Husky 540i XP

Yeah my 540i's will pull 40 cm/16inches. The predecessor models would not. I switched to running mostly 14 inch bars because I use the 540i mostly for pruning, don't need 16" cutting length most of the time - AND - the 28" Stanly Fat Max plastic toolbox will perfectly hold two saws, charger...

    Husky battery saw trouble shooting?

Did you get this worked out? What do you figure it was, if so? I'm not that impressed with the Husky latches. Mine frequently unlatch one notch while climbing around and disconnect from power needing me to slam it home again and turn power back on. All of my climbing battery saws have...
